Story about the prospect of parenting
Hi there, my name is Michael Segalov – I’m a writer with The Guardian and the Observer based in London. I’m working on a story at the moment (this week) about the prospect of parenting – it’s an essay for the Observer Magazine where I’ll write about the different ways of raising children, and how and why people explore different ways. For me it’s very personal, being in a same-sex relationship means i’ll never have children biologically. This for me is a starting point to think about my future. And I’d love to find out more from others who’ve opted to co-parent about why they chose to, the practicalities, and the lessons they’ve learnt. As always, I’ve been given a tight deadline! It would be amazing to try and speak to people this week / weekend, but I hope it wouldn’t take too long. Also, just to reassure you, I would approach any conversation (and subsequent story) with total sensitivity. I don’t need to use surnames, pictures or to share identifying details. I really just want to learn. In terms of style, it’ll be a little like this.

Thanks so much, and really looking forward to hearing from you.
