new BBC documentary series
Hi, I work on a new BBC documentary series and I’m hoping to speak to coparents and people on the journey towards coparenting about their experiences. I’d also be interested in talking to people becoming solo parents via donor insemination.
The show I work on is called We Are England and is made up of half-hour films looking at topics that matter to viewers around the country, and telling them from the perspective of people living them. There’s no presenter or voiceover and each episode follows a single story, allowing viewers to get to know the individuals in the film. Our first series is coming out later this month and we’re starting work on our second series, which will come out in the autumn. You can read more about the series here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/2022/new-current-affairs-programme-launches
We’re looking at the possibility of making an episode following some coparents or solo parents by choice, showing what the journey is like and what it means to you to become a parent. It would be interesting to speak to people at any stage of the journey, whether you’re just starting out or bringing up your child. At this stage I’m just hoping to have an initial conversation, with no pressure to take part, and am very happy to answer any questions you have. I mostly work in south west England and so am particularly keen to speak to people in that region, but am very happy to hear from anyone on a coparenting or solo parenting journey.
If you’d like to talk you can reach me on 07805 750 819 or hannah.mirsky@bbc.co.uk.
Many thanks,
Hannah
