Good luck to you. You have and are changing your life around and deserve respect for facing the serious challenges you’ve come up against earlier in life.
Take your time, make sure you’ve got lots of support, and I hope a good man helps you. Remember you have control and consent. You don’t have to conceive through NI, and you don’t have to accept the first offer of help. My advice is chat to a lot of donors, and choose one you entirely feel comfortable with.
Also think have you had enough time off drugs and are settled enough to manage a child without the heavy hand of social services looking over you? They will almost certainly do so just to look after the interests of the baby…so it’s a good thing to have housing/ job / clean health in order up front. I say this with great sincerity, so you don’t go in uninformed and suddenly face issues you hadn’t foreseen.
