    Hello everyone

I’m a BBC radio documentary-maker, based in Bristol, and I’m currently undertaking research for a programme I hope to make about elective single motherhood. This is for an ongoing series called The Untold on BBC Radio 4, presented by Grace Dent, which tells true stories of life in 21st century Britain. Each episode is self-contained, and follows a single person through a period of change in their life.

I’m hoping to find a woman who would be happy to share her experience of embarking on solo motherhood. I would ideally like to follow someone through the last few months of a pregnancy but I’d also be interested in hearing from someone who is trying to conceive.

I am a woman in my mid-thirties and this is something that has been coming up regularly in conversations with friends lately, but something I feel isn’t talked about enough in the media. I’ve been interested for a long time in people choosing to become parents without a romantic partner in the picture and the different options available to women seeking to conceive.

I totally appreciate that this is a deeply personal subject and I would treat your story with the utmost sensitivity and care. You would need to feel comfortable talking about your experience on air but it’s a pre-recorded programme rather than live so we would have plenty of opportunity to get to know one another and discuss what you feel comfortable sharing.

For a no-commitment chat about what being part of the programme might involve, or for further information, please don’t hesitate to contact me. My email address is mair.bosworth@bbc.co.uk and my direct line is 0117 9747997.

    Many thanks for reading,
    Mair
